MFA Oil Company Acquires Two Propane Retailers in Southeast Kansas

MFA Oil Company, a farmer-owned energy supply cooperative, announces it has acquired Chanute LP Gas Inc., based in Chanute, Kan., and Tri-Star Propane Inc., based in Severy, Kan. The purchase of the two propane retailers aligns with MFA Oil’s efforts to grow its business in the eastern Kansas region.

The purchase of the two propane retailers aligns with MFA Oil’s efforts to grow its business in the eastern Kansas region.
“These businesses fit well with our expanding operational footprint in Kansas and will enhance our ability to provide premium service and products to customers in the area,” says Jon Ihler, MFA Oil vice president of sales and marketing. “The owners of Chanute LP Gas and Tri-Star Propane have built great businesses with excellent reputations, and we are honored to have the opportunity to carry on their traditions.”
The acquisitions represent the sixth and seventh companies MFA Oil has purchased in its 2017 fiscal year, which began September 1, 2016. MFA Oil previously acquired DeClerk LP Gas Inc. of Pocahontas, Ark.; Spring Hill Oil Company Inc. of Spring Hill, Kan.; Ford Oil Company of Hornersville, Mo; Keiser Oil and LP Gas Co. of Keiser, Ark.; and Ozark County LP Gas Company, Inc. with locations in Gainesville, Mo. and Mountain Home, Ark.
MFA Oil plans to continue evaluating acquisition opportunities in its existing market area and new territories.
