April 8, 2022
MFA Oil Company, a farmer-owned energy supply cooperative, has acquired the propane and refined fuel operations of Griffin Oil & Propane, an independent retailer based in southeast Missouri, on March 30. The deal includes offices in Deering, Mo., and Portageville, Mo., trucks, tanks, employees and customer accounts.
“We are very excited to add the new team members from Griffin Oil & Propane to our staff,” says Kenny Steeves, senior vice president of MFA Oil operations. “We look forward to incorporating their talents into our current resources to bolster our efforts in the Missouri Bootheel region.”
Joe King, co-owner and managing partner of Griffin Oil & Propane, expressed gratitude to the many customers serviced by his company for decades.
“When we decided to pass the torch, we wanted to ensure our employees and customers would be in good hands,” King says. “MFA Oil is best positioned to provide the high level of care our customers expect. As we have worked through the transition, their interactions with our people and clientele have been nothing less than amazing.”
MFA Oil continues to evaluate strategic acquisition opportunities in its existing market areas and other regions where it can expand its footprint.
