MFA Oil Acquires Propane Retailer in Pocahontas, Arkansas
June 26, 2017
MFA Oil Company, a farmer-owned energy supply cooperative, announces it has acquired DeClerk LP Gas, Inc. in Pocahontas, Ark., effective June 21. DeClerk LP Gas has been in operation since 1938.
“The purchase of DeClerk LP Gas ties together our central and eastern operations within Arkansas and will greatly improve our efficiencies and delivery systems,” says Jon Ihler, MFA Oil vice president of sales and marketing.
This is the fifth acquisition of MFA Oil’s 2017 fiscal year, which began September 1, 2016. The company purchased Spring Hill Oil Company Inc. of Spring Hill, Kan. earlier this month and previously acquired Ozark County LP Gas Company, Inc., with locations in Gainesville, Mo. and Mountain Home, Ark., Keiser Oil and LP Gas Co. of Keiser, Ark. and Ford Oil Company with its operations in Hornersville, Mo. and Kennett, Mo.
“One striking characteristic of MFA Oil is their desire to form a trusting relationship,” says Bill DeClerk, owner of DeClerk LP Gas. “My meeting with their folks at the Columbia headquarters proved them to be people of integrity. Thanks to the MFA Oil transition team for being professional, yet aware of the sensitive nature of this life changing event.”
MFA Oil will continue to evaluate strategic acquisition opportunities in its existing market areas and other states where it can expand its footprint.
