MFA Oil Acquires George’s Gas Co., Inc.
May 2, 2018
MFA Oil Company, a farmer-owned energy supply cooperative, has acquired George’s Gas Co., Inc., with operations in Berryville, Ark., Harrison Ark., and Springdale, Ark., effective April 30.
“This purchase significantly strengthens our presence in northern Arkansas and the number of poultry farms George’s was serving in the area fits well with our expertise,” says Jon Ihler, MFA Oil vice president of sales and marketing. “We have a lot of value we can provide to the producers and residential customers we will be working with in the region.”
“MFA Oil’s success and longevity in their industry, along with the transparency and integrity they’ve demonstrated throughout this process, gives us great confidence that they will take excellent care of our customers and employees,” says Matt Brown, vice president of real estate development and gas at George’s.
This is the fourth acquisition of MFA Oil’s 2018 fiscal year, which began September 1, 2017. Earlier in the year, the company added Callaway Propane LLC of Fulton, Mo., Raines Oil Co. of Senath, Mo., and Cardie Oil, Inc., of Tampa, Kan.
MFA Oil will continue to evaluate strategic acquisition opportunities in its existing market areas and other regions where it can expand its footprint.
