June 8, 2017
MFA Oil Company announces it has donated $160,000 to Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit organization that provides emergency and other financial assistance to the families of U.S. military service members and veterans. The company presented a check to representatives from Operation Homefront during its Third Annual Charity Golf Scramble & Concert, which was held June 5 at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia. The event featured 56 teams of golfers and a private concert by country music artists Chris Janson and Jana Kramer.
“MFA Oil is proud to continue our support of Operation Homefront and their dedication to serving members of our Armed Forces and their families,” says Mark Fenner, MFA Oil president and CEO. “Thanks to the support of our sponsors, golfers, customers and employees, we have raised more than $400,000 for Operation Homefront in the last three years.”
The money donated by MFA Oil will go to active duty military and veteran families in Missouri and Kansas, as well as other areas where the needs are greater. Operation Homefront provides a long-term impact to the families of deployed and transitioning service members and post 9/11 wounded warriors through programs that promote relief, resiliency and recurring family support.
“MFA Oil and its customers share a commitment to building strong, stable and secure military families,” said Margi Kirst, chief development officer for Operation Homefront. “We are so grateful for their generous support, which will help Operation Homefront continue to make a real difference for these families through our critical financial assistance and support programs.”
MFA Oil thanks its sponsors for contributing to the fundraising effort and would specifically like to recognize: concert sponsor, Warren Distribution; platinum sponsor CHS; silver sponsors Innospec, Lockton Companies and Clear Vision Development Group; bronze sponsors Commerce Bank, Crockett Engineering, Double Check Company, DSI Global, Growmark, Fiscal, Joe Machens, Little Dixie Construction, McLane Company, MFA Incorporated, Open Tundra, Pepsi, Perfetti VanMelle, Sinclair Oil, Valero Oil and WESROC; dinner sponsor CoBank; and tee gift sponsor Williams Keepers LLC. In addition to donations from golfers and sponsors, MFA Oil raised more than $100,000 through sales of pin-ups at its Break Time convenience stores and mid-Missouri Jiffy Lube service centers and a raffle put on by the company’s Big O Tires locations for a set of wheels, tires and a lift kit.
