MFA Oil Company Acquires American Petroleum Marketers
November 1, 2013
Columbia, Missouri – MFA Oil Company, a farmer-owned cooperative based in Columbia, MO, has acquired American Petroleum Marketers (APM), based in Bonner Springs, Kansas. APM has been in operation since 2008 and distributes fuel to over 60 Cenex branded sites, along with unbranded fuel, in six states.
“We are looking forward to serving the APM customers,” says Mark Fenner, chief operating officer of MFA Oil. “APM has quickly grown by providing value to their customers, and this fits really well with our new strategic direction to pursue and grow the dealer business and expand the MFA Oil footprint.”
The APM operations will be combined with existing MFA Oil wholesale and jobber operations. APM was owned by five cooperatives located in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma. APM’s trade territory includes these states as well as Wyoming and Missouri.
This is the fifth acquisition for MFA Oil since January. MFA Oil acquired Henderson Oil, Columbia, MO; McCorkell Oil, Piedmont, MO; Rowland Oil, Jackson, MO and the refined fuel operations of MFA Cooperative, Freeburg, MO. These five acquisitions increase MFA Oil’s annual volume by nearly 50 million gallons.
