Vice President of Supply and Government Affairs
James Greer was named vice president of supply and government affairs in 2014. Greer joined MFA Oil in 1993 as a training agent after graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in agricultural economics. He became manager of the Columbia, Mo., bulk and propane plants in 1996, and was promoted to northeast Missouri district sales manager in 1998. Greer then served as Oklahoma district sales manager from 2003 until 2007, when he was promoted to western region sales manager for the company’s bulk fuel and propane operations. He served in that role until 2012 when he was promoted to western region vice president.
In his current role, Greer oversees the supply department, which controls refinery output, pipeline shipments, propane procurement, terminal pricing and the forward contract program. He also works with industry trade associations to monitor legislative issues and coordinate the company’s lobbying efforts. Greer grew up in Texas and Oklahoma, working summers in Missouri on his grandparents’ farms. He was introduced to MFA Oil at a young age by his grandfather, who was an MFA Oil board member from Marshfield, Mo.
