MFA Oil Sells Utah and Colorado Propane Operations

MFA Oil recently completed the sale of its propane operations in Vernal, Utah, and Craig, Colo., to Mountain West Propane, Inc., on Friday, February 1. The company had acquired Basin Propane Systems in Vernal on Feb. 3, 2015.
Jon Ihler, MFA Oil vice president of sales and marketing, says the geographic isolation of the two offices limited the support services the broader company could offer to its only locations west of the Rocky Mountains.
“We had plans to grow in Utah and Colorado through strategic acquisitions, but unfortunately, that never came to fruition,” Ihler says. “Divesting these operations was the best option when it became clear there were insufficient growth opportunities in the surrounding area.”
